Team Leader
Rotary Club of Villa Devoto

I am Carlos Raúl Manteo, and I was born in Argentina. I am a member, during almost 12 years, of the Villa Devoto Rotary Club. They proposed me as a Team Leader of this District 4890 Group Study Exchange. I am very proud of it and very happy representing our District and at the same time, to be back, here in the States. When I was 25 years old, I got the Industrial Engineer degree in the Buenos Aires University. I was in charge of a railroad thermoelectric power plant. After five years experience, I decided to get some American experience. I got my visa and I worked as electrical designer for a Division of Allied Chemical. So, I lived in this country with my wife and an American born daughter María Teresa, for almost three years. I also have a son Gustavo, born in Argentina. Right now we have four grandchildren.

When we got back to Argentina, I worked almost eight years, as Technical Manager for a rubber industry. With other four partners, established our own rubber company. During 27 years, we have been working also for the car industry (Ford, GM, Renault, Fiat, Peugeot, etc.). After this long period we sold the industry to a French company.
