Speakers' Bureau

Our District's Speakers' Bureau has been established to assist Clubs to have interesting, informative and inspirational programs about The Rotary Foundation ("TRF") and its activities at their Club meetings.

The Speakers' Bureau provides Clubs with the names, contact information and subjects about which these Rotarians, Ambassadorial Scholars and former GSE Team members will speak. All the speakers listed here have been active in TRF programs and/or have been recipients of TRF support. Each has a story to tell, information to impart and experiences to share in an interesting presentation, often with PowerPoint.

To arrange a program for your Club:

Step 1
Decide what you want the speaker to tell you about TRF: e.g., general information, where the money you give to TRF each year goes, how to put together a Matching Grant, where we are with eradicating polio, what it means to receive an Ambassadorial Scholarship, what it meant to be a member of a Group Study Exchange Team, etc. (There are many other topics that our speakers can address).
Step 2
Select at least 2 dates possible for the speaker to present the program – allow at least 2 weeks advance notice.
Step 3 - Contact a speaker
Choice 1: Select someone from the list on this website and make the arrangements directly with the speaker; or
Choice 2: Call or e-mail the District Speakers' Bureau Chair:
PDG John Blakely 510-651-6579
WWhen contacting either the speaker or Jim Walker, discuss the topic(s) you want covered in the program. You may be asked how many members are in your Club, and other questions about your Club's TRF activities.
Step 4
During the week before the speaker is scheduled, confirm the date and time with the speaker and give him/her directions to your Club's meeting place.
