District 5170

Rotary District 5170 lies in the hub of California's marvelous San Francisco bay Area, east and south stretching from North Oakland / Emeryville to Watsonville / Hollister and San Juan Bautista, including the world-famous Silicon Valley, right in the heart of the 58 clubs, 4,000-member District. The District includes most of Alameda County, all of Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, and San Benito Counties, and the tip of San Mateo County.

This is Rotary country at its finest, world renowned for its humanitarian activities and a broad range of examples of service to others. District 5170 truly does personify "Service Above Self" at its fullest and richest.

District 5170 Ranks High for 2006-07; Aims Higher in 2007-08

With a grand total contribution of $966,171, District 5170 ranked #10 among the 530 Rotary Districts of the world! Our support of the Annual Programs was 5th best in the world, with a total contribution of $733,384 and a per capita contribution of $181.40. Never one to rest on our accomplishments, this year the clubs in District 5170 increased their Rotary Foundation goal by 5.1%! If 100% of the Rotarians in our District would contribute to the 2007-08 campaign, we would easily exceed $1,000,000. Remember, YOUR contributions support Rotary's efforts for world understanding and peace!
