What Rotary experience should you have?
   
How Selected?
  By the District Governor (while Governor-Elect) with guidance from Assistant Governors-Designate and/or the appropriate Avenue of Service Director-Designate.
   
Desirable Qualifications for Consideration:
 
  • Current Rotarian in good standing in a club in good standing
  • Service on the committee or equivalent for one or more years
  • Demonstrated performance at the District level
  • Potential for future leadership in the District
Other Critical Areas for Consideration:
 
  • Knowledge of the clubs and Rotarians in the District and well known by District Rotarians
    • Why? Advises Governor on potential committee members, recruits members
  • Knowledge of the functions of the committee
    • Why? Has responsibility for efficient and effective functioning of the committee
  • Enthusiasm for purposes of Committee
    • Why? Serves to motivate others in area of responsibility
Best Training for District Committee Chair:
 
  • Service as member of the District committee
  • Service as a chair or member of a club committee in the same area
Logical Career Path:
  Club President and/or club committee chair, District Committee Member
   
How Do I Get The Job?
  Secure the credentials and express your interest to the Governor-Elect, the Assistant Governors-Designate or the appropriate Avenue of Service Director-Designate during the fall before the term begins.
