This Rotary year (2005/06), it is a District goal to raise awareness about the area of Rotary Fellowships. Unless you have attended an international convention, you are not likely to have heard much about this area until now.
Rotary Fellowships are fun! They are groups of Rotarians from around the world who share specific interests. For example, there is a fellowship for yachting Rotarians, for RVing Rotarians, wine drinking Rotarians, for CPA/Accounting Rotarians, for amateur astronomers, for automobile and motor sport enthusiasts, and the list goes on.
There are also fellowships with a service-oriented focus, such as the Rotary Fellowship for Population and Development and the Rotary Fellowship for Fighting AIDS. Whatever your interest, there’s bound to be a Fellowship for you. And what a great way to get to meet and make friends from around the world who have the same interests!
There are now over 90 Fellowships, representing many diverse interests. This is obviously too many to list here, but you can easily find them by going to www.rotary.org, then clicking on RI Programs, where you will find Rotary Fellowships in the navigation list on the left side of the page. Click on that and you will have arrived. Rotary International has even made it easy to find a Fellowship in your area of interest. You can type that information into the search box on the Rotary Fellowships page or click on the link that will give the entire list.
If you have any questions about Rotary Fellowships or
about how to promote them in your club, contact our Chair:
